The hive has been an amazing space and community to be a part of, everybody who knows the hive will say the same. I did my first ever public spoken word performance there in the early days, since then I've performed there for many different events including to raise money n awareness for Greenpeace and in aid of the Greek refugee crisis to name a few. Meeting so many like minded individuals and different people from different projects and causes taking part in and creating cool workshops, music and awareness raising events, exhibitions, talks etc really helped me and many others along our journey towards the truth and to creating positive change both internal and external. I moved my own monthly event to the hive in December 2016 and it really helped grow my already growing platform in many ways. Having a venue that came with it's own projects, causes, networks, resources and crowd attached straight away added a lot of fuel to the fire. The event was so popular that they offered us a fortnightly weekday slot to hold a jam for musicians and poets, so as well as our monthly events we also had a few months of regular jams, each one being a totally different mixture of poets, musicians, rappers, djs, singers and drummers. Creating a unique one off experience every time. I have met and been introduced to a lot of different interesting people at or through the hive, many having projects to get involved with and many wanting to support what I was doing. This is one of the things that the hive was well known for! Bringing people together based around a shared thirst for change and growth. It's difficult to adequately put into words just how great having a hive around has been for the different communities, words alone can't do it justice. Great place, great ideas, great people, great projects building a great movement that resonates with many many people who work on the frontlines of change and also want to see a better world for future generations. We all know that this system is unsustainable and extremely damaging to our planet, places like this help positive people and groups to not only learn about and discuss these problems/solutions but to network and work together with these things at the forefront of the agenda. The world needs more hives! If there was a place like this in every town n city we could change the world :) of that there is no doubt.
